“ The best way to describe this spot is as the perfect comfort Japanese food for anyone who grew up getting the basic take out as a kid. I came by to grab a to go plate on a busy and stressful day when I just needed something quick, and it honestly hit the spot. It's good, basic Japanese take out, and it was a huge source of nostalgia and comfort for me at a time that I needed it. The store is very clean and organized and has a solid menu. The cashier is very friendly and an excellent multitasker. She was taking orders, setting out food for to go orders/mobile orders, and constantly answering the phone. She definitely stayed busy but never made any customers wait to be helped. My food was ready in 10-15 minutes and was actually ready faster than my partner's food from a restaurant next door. It was quiet when I entered and picked up shortly after (it was about 4:30 PM). It was nice to see a good amount of foot traffic in a small restaurant. And yet it never got loud or rowdy. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and gyoza combo plate. It was exactly as you expect and hope for from chicken teriyaki. ”

“ Having grown up in the PNW, Teriyaki spots are common - it's a true staple here! The down side is that they can't all be great... I've consumed an embarrassing amount of this type of takeout in my lifetime, but I am happy to say it's given me a taste for what I love in my teriyaki plate. I also have to mention their fantastic customer service - they always have food that is hot, fresh, and handed over with a smile. There is a lot of joy in their kitchen and restaurant and the cleanliness and awesome service makes it obvious that they take pride in their business and care for their customers. Koto absolutely hits the nail on the head with their rich, hot chicken teriyaki, crispy gyoza, and rice that is just a tiny bit sticky and full bodied. Also, the classic iceberg salad with a light, sweet dressing to make sure you have something to lighten it up. Their chicken has just the right amount of tenderness, sweetness from being marinated, and a hint of crispy char from the grill. Stacked beautifully in the box, it was awesome to bring home to my hungry family who wouldn't wait to dig in once we opened the box! Their gyoza is awesome - crispy outside, soft inside, and plenty of flavor. It's a classic that they've done just right! Their rice is so good - I'll probably pick up an extra side to refrigerate and use in the stir fry later in the week next time we stop by. The long and short of it is that we pass at least 2 other teriyaki restaurants to get to Koto and we'll be back here next time - but I'm trying the Yakisoba and a sushi roll next time! “ Clean, friendly, and flavorful!!!! Stopped by while running errands in Lakewood and it was well worth the stop. Located in a nice size shopping plaza. I ordered l a Lunch Special #8 that came with Terriyaki Chicken, Gyoza, White Rice, and a Side Salad. The chicken was grilled to perfection and the teriyaki sauce was perfect! Gyoza were perfectly crisp yet still fluffy and came with a side of dipping sauce that tasted like a soy/teriyaki hybrid. The lettuce in my side salad was fresh and crisp. Definitely will favorite this spot for the future! ”
